Transition to Primary Education

Starting school is a major milestone for you and your child, and the start of a new phase of life for you both.  Your child’s first years of school will be exciting and engaging and this information will help you and your child make the most of the experience. There are handy hints and tips about your child’s school journey that are based on suggestions from other families who, like you, want the best for their children. Victorian government schools recognise and value the contribution you and your family make to your child’s education and this information explains how you can stay informed and become involved in your child’s education.

Here you’ll find information on how to support your child to have a smooth transition to primary school. -  http://www.education.vic.gov.au/childhood/parents/transition/Pages/transition.aspx

To support a positive start to school for all children, a guide has been developed to provide advice for families as well as early childhood education and care, outside school hours care and schools. To view the guide, see: Transition: A Positive Start to School (pdf - 763.19kb)
